Mansfield Extension
We can often push the spaces within our homes to their capacity and they can perform well under the increasing demands of our changing families. There sometimes comes a point though when ‘more space’ is the fitting response to the rising need for privacy and function of the home we dwell in.
This family wanted to provide their two (out of three) children with their own bedrooms, an extra bathroom, and a den space accommodating both storage and a space for relaxation. Every site and client comes with their own set of parameters, which help to shape the optimal design outcome for them. We worked through multiple iterations of the floor layouts, form, and cladding options. We discussed the advantages and disadvantages of each, which ultimately made the clients feel more empowered to make informed decisions through the process.
